Wanderlust ... by Nightwish

Lyrics (and beauty) by NIGHTWISH:

I want to see where the sirens sing
Hear how the wolves howl
Sail the dead calm waters of the Pacific

Dance in the fields of coral
Be blinded by the white
Discover the deepest jungle

I want to find The Secret Path
A bird delivered into my heart, so

It`s not the end
Not the kingdom come
It is the journey that matters,
the distant wanderer
Call of the wild

In me forever and ever and ever forever
Wanderlust

I want to love by the Blue Lagoon
Kiss under the waning moon
Straying, claiming my place in this mortal coil

Riding the dolphins
Asking the mountains
Dreaming Alaska

The Earth can have but Earth

I want to find...
It`s not the end...

Look into my eyes and see the wanderer
See the mirrors of a wolf behold the pathfinder

Yay!

First comment! =)

I caught sight of this small article in the local paper last week. Would this be really old news and we've only just got it here?
*would not be surprised*

Wolves Regain Protection
A federal court has overturned the Bush Administration's decision to remove grey wolves in the western Great Lakes region from the endangered species list. US District Judge Paul Friedman in Washington sided with environmental groups that accused the Government of misreading the law last year when it lifted protections for about 4000 wolves in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin

Good news indeed, late or not!

See you around, sunshine. =)

Hi my Possum, love! Ohhh...you popped my cherry (well, my comment cherry on this post, at least)! *wink*

That is very good news, isn't it. And, it's not very old news at all!
Needless to say, I did a HAPPY HAPPY DANCE!!!!

Here's the whole story for you:

Federal Court Restores Gray Wolves to Federal Endangered Species List

September 29, 2008

Gray wolves will receive endangered species protections once again. ©USFWS

In a victory for the gray wolf, a federal court today overturned the federal government's controversial decision to strip wolves of all protection under the federal Endangered Species Act and turn management over to the states of Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The ruling comes in response to a lawsuit filed by The Humane Society of the United States, Help Our Wolves Live, Born Free USA and Friends of Animals and Their Environment.

State-Sponsored Wolf Hunting Blocked

"This is a great day for wolves in the Great Lakes region, and a crushing blow for wealthy trophy hunting groups like the Safari Club and the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance who were champing at the bit to take part in the planned slaughter of these magnificent creatures," said Jonathan R. Lovvorn, vice president of animal protection litigation for The Humane Society of the United States.

Under the reinstated protections, wolf populations can start to recover.

The court ruled that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's decision to carve out and delist the cluster of gray wolves in the western Great Lakes region was not clearly supported by either the language or purpose of the ESA, and thus ordered the decision vacated.

Great Lake Joins Rocky Mountain States on Wolves

In July, a federal judge in Montana overturned a similar decision stripping wolves of all federal protection in the Rocky Mountain region, thus preventing Idaho, Montana and Wyoming from implementing wolf hunts as well.

Prior to today's decision, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan had all authorized the killing of wolves, and their management plans would collectively allow nearly a 50 percent reduction in the region's wolf population. Those plans were scuttled by today's decision restoring federal protections for wolves in the region.

I was supposed to blog about that; but, with all the distractions, clutter, noise and pretty shiney things in my sight ~ I went ahead and blogged the Nightwish lyrics first. No, NIGHTWISH does not OWN my heart now! NOPE, they don't. No, no, no....the most certainly do not! ;)

*thinks maybe if I tell myself that enough times I'll start believing it*

Speaking of pretty, shiney things, did you hear where I will be ringing in the New Year? Guess. ;)

Oh heck, I can't keep a thing this good to myself. I'M GOING TO FINLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YIPPIE and YAHOO too!!! Hellyeah and HELLDONE!!!!!!!

Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY excited about that! I'm smiling from ear to ear just thinking about it!!!!

So, how far is New Zealand from Helsinki? (Helsinki, YAY!!!!)

Okay, I should really stop talking about. I don't want to give my self a heart attack and die before I get there. Once I get there, who cares! I'll die in heaven ;)

I shall copy and paste/post this at your blog in case it takes you awhile to get back here. I know my traps do 'catch' you sometimes!

Thanks for stopping in, Possum!

Hugs and Much Love,
Wendy

HI!!

*shouts over NightWish, trying to grab tremendously excited 616's attention* ;)

Finland, you say!? You are going to have the most fantastic time! It will be extra great if you get to hear some of the local talent while you're there in Helsinki. Will you be travelling around a bit? I've heard it is a beautiful place. And of course Pixies photos were wonderful. =)

NZ -> Antarctica -> Patagonia -> the moon -> Finland lol
Looks like I will have to experience Finland vicariously through you, 616 =)

Now work on getting rid of that infection and temperature so you are good for travelling. Christmas decorations are out in the shops already, you know, and then it's New Years before you know it. ;)

Thanks for posting the full wolf article. Heh! We had a greatly abbreviated version here didn't we!
It's great to see more and more states overturning the law.

I hope your infection and fever have antibiotics attacking them. Your jaw must be throbbing!
Get well soon. =)

xoxo

Hi Possum!

WHAT? YOU WANT ME TO TURN THE MUSIC DOWN? OKAY....HOLD ON! ;)

That's better. Now I can hear you!

I know!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!! A friend of mine from Belgium is trying to rearrange her schedule to meet me in Helsinki. And, I do plan on seeing as much local talent as possible!!!!! Thank you so much for being excited for/with me!

Darn moon had to be in the way, huh? :( We could have worked around "Antarctica -> Patagonia" thing! ;)

I was on antibiotics (yet again *sigh*). I finished them yesterday but I don't think the infection is gone. This infection better go poof soon before I go POOF. I suppose I'm going to have to call that specialist soon. My dentist gave me his number when I first started fighting this thing (back in July, I think); but, you know how I love to procrastinate....

You are correct! I need to get myself as healthy as possibly before my trip! Screw my dentist, I'll listen to you! ;)

Thank Possum and you take good care of yourself and that little gremlin too. In fact, ya'll take good care of each other!!!

What's new in your life? Besides being "caught" in traps, headlights and having problems with that sticky door? ;)

Hugs and Much Love,
6/Wendy

*shall copy, paste and post at your place again*
